James St. John, DVM
Dr. St. John was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Al. He graduated high school from Tuscaloosa Academy. In 1979 he earned his BS Degree in Biology and English from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!!). He then graduated with a BS in Animal Science in 1980 and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, both from Auburn University (War Eagle!!).
He did his internship in Lexington, KY where he worked on both small and large animals. Upon graduating he worked one year in Winchester, TN with Dr. Harry Prince also focusing on both small and large animals. In 1988 he returned to Tuscaloosa, AL and opened Town & Country Veterinary Hospital with Dr. Warren Neal.
Dr. St. John also specializes in equine medicine, providing routine care as well as reproductive services.
He and his wife, Jennifer, live on a farm in Moundville, AL, just 15 minutes from the clinic. He enjoys tending to his organic garden as well as to the cows, horses, & chickens. He and Jennifer are also owned by three dogs, Gabe, Mollie, and Lacey, and a cat, Zorro.
He and Jennifer are avid trail riders, riding at the farm and other destinations around the southeast. He also enjoys traveling and continuing his education through seminars.
